Smallest bird in the world

All the people are very curious to know which is the smallest bird of the world...

Yes it is a species of hummingbird. It is generally found in Cuba and Isle of Youth. In Cuba people used to call it as zunzuncito. 

Its weight is not more than 1.8 gram and length is only 5 cm. The person who have never seen this before will absolutely confused whether this is bird or an insect. It flies 80 wings per second and male swings its wings 200 times per second.

Male Bee hummingbird is the smallest than the female. We can take their pics only by high resolution cameras. It has smallest no. of feathers that is 1000 where other bird species have up to 25000 feathers.

For sustain the metabolism of the body its heart rate is too much fast and also it is the second fastest among all animals. Its body temperate is about 40 degree Celsius (104 F). It is highest among all the birds but it decreases during night for saving energy as it loses much heat due to small size of the body. It eats half of its half of its body mass.

Their nest are generally attached to small branches and attached using spider web. Interesting thing is that their nest is also world smallest nest. Their chicks are generally found in May-June.
